Hey, I’m Rachel — licensed esthetician, advanced sugarist, plant mom, and the proud owner of Uproot Sugar and Esthetics in Olympia, WA. My journey into esthetics started in 2015 when I enrolled at the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute in Seattle to become a makeup artist, but along the way, I got introduced to sugaring — and everything changed. At first, I thought it was going to be some kind of sugar scrub… definitely not a paste for hair removal! But the moment I tried it, I was hooked. As someone who’s struggled with feeling comfortable in my own body hair, the experience of sugaring — gentle on the skin, made with just sugar, water, and lemon — felt like a revelation. I loved the immediate results, the simplicity, and the confidence it brought me. And I realized I wanted to help others feel that too. Since then, I’ve built a business focused on creating a safe, inclusive space where clients of all backgrounds, skin tones, and gender identities feel welcome, seen, and celebrated. Uproot is about more than smooth skin — it’s about uprooting shame, growing confidence, and nurturing self-love. Whether you’re coming in for a Brazilian, brow tint, or lash lift, I want you to leave feeling smooth, confident, loved — and like you got real results with products and services that work for your skin and lifestyle. Clients often tell me I’ve made something as intimate as hair removal feel less scary and more empowering. I take that to heart every day🩵 When I’m not in the studio, I’m usually taking care of my million houseplants, riding passenger flying around The Ridge racetrack or off-roading with my husband, cuddling my two cats, hanging out with my ball python, or learning more about skin, body care, and how to support each of my clients’ unique journeys. CANCELLATION POLICY
24-Hour Cancellation Policy: Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or reschedules. Changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice will result in a 50% charge of the scheduled service. No-Show Policy: If you miss your appointment without notice, you will be charged 100% of the service total. After two no-shows, prepayment will be required to book future appointments. Late Arrivals: If you’re running late, please call or text as soon as possible. A 10-minute grace period is allowed for most appointments, or 5 minutes for services scheduled for 15 minutes or less. To respect the time of other clients, your service will end at the originally scheduled time. If you’re too late to begin the service, it may need to be adjusted or rescheduled, and a late cancellation fee may apply. Right to refuse or discontinue service: Uproot Sugar and Esthetics reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services to any client for reasons including, but not limited to, safety concerns, inappropriate or disruptive behavior, suspected contraindications, intoxication, refusal to follow studio policies, or failure to provide informed consent. Uproot Sugar and Esthetics maintains a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. Discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated, and services will never be refused based on race, color, creed, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, national origin, veteran or military status, or use of a service animal, in accordance with Washington State law.
